Just as important as insulation, windows can have a significant affect on the energy efficiency of a home. Hensley Premier Builders offers its customers several window choices. Our recommended solution consists of what we believe offers our customers the best value proposition available today. Options include aluminum, the industry standard for this geography, wood, and vinyl.

Vinyl windows cost about 50% more than the industry standard aluminum frame window, and about half what wood windows cost. For those customers who feel comfortable with either a white or a sandstone color frame, vinyl windows represent the most cost effective solution for a new home. Options for vinyl windows include brick moulding and exterior mutton bars that simulate the look of genuine wood windows.

Aluminum windows are the least expensive solution, but offer about half the energy efficiency of vinyl windows. Aluminum windows are the most popular solution in the North Texas area because they hold up well in this climate and are inexpensive. Wood windows have traditionally been used in dryer geographies than that of North Texas, where the heat and humidity can take its toll on the wood frame. Wood windows have a beautiful appearance and high energy efficiency ratings, but can result in much higher maintenance costs for the homeowner.
